How to respond when you are told not to breastfeed in pubic

Breastfeeding is the most natural thing in the world, and moms have been doing it since the beginning of time. It’s a mixed-up world when you consider that in some cultures it is OK to carry a gun but it’s not OK to breastfeed your baby in public.

Many mothers have been bullied and harassed when they have breastfed in public. When Marianna, the mother of a 10-month-old, found out the nursing room at Babies R’ Us was occupied, she looked for another spot to feed her crying son. She found a secluded spot and began breastfeeding the boy when a staff member came up and informed her that she was not allowed to feed her son outside of the nursing room. It’s kind of shocking that a store that caters to baby’s needs isn’t supportive or accommodating to a breastfeeding mother.

Next time that someone tells you that you need to go and breastfeed in private, shut up them up with one of our great comebacks.
