Famous rapper Drake was born to Jewish-Canadian mother and an African-American father. Drake was called a “schvartze,” a derogatory Yiddish word for black, by kids at the Jewish school he attended in Toronto.   He says, “I went to a Jewish school, where nobody understood what it was like to be black and Jewish. When kids are young it’s hard for them to understand the make-up of religion and race.”“The same kids that made fun of me are super proud [of me] now,” Drake lamented. “And they act as if nothing happened.”
Jennifer Lawrence
Everyone wants to be Jennifer Lawrence’s BFF nowadays, but that wasn’t always the case. The actress revealed she was bullied throughout her childhood, “I changed schools a lot when I was in elementary school because some girls were mean,” In an interview with French magazine Le Figaro Madame,  Jen reveals she struggled with severe social anxiety as a child, something that built her character and made her who she is today. “Don’t worry about the bitches. He was small for his age with a big mouth, and didn’t know how to fight or defend himself, so he took up boxing to fend off  the bullies.   The British hitmaker of the song The ‘Lego House’ reveals that he was teased for his ginger hair growing up. Ben said, “I think everyone goes through a bit of bullying at school. Of course you get picked on for certain things, but I think it ends up being a positive,”  A lot of kids are teased because they look different from their peers.” Ben shared “I was quite a weird kid when I was little, I wore big glasses, had hearing problems, had a stutter and I had ginger hair, but I am now a successful musician and I have nothing to complain about.”  It may have been hard being teased for red hair growing up, but it actually helped his careers later on, as there weren’t that many ginger haired kids on TV or YouTube, so it made it easier for Ben to stand out and get noticed.
Kristin Stewart
Kristin Stewart was bullied as a teenager for not dressing like the other kids at school. “Look at a picture of me before I was 15. I am a boy. I wore my brother’s clothes, dude!” she tells Vanity Fair. Stewart shares, “But it’s not like I didn’t care that they made fun of me. It really bothered me. I remember this girl in sixth grade looked at me in gym and was like, ‘Oh my God! That’s disgusting — you don’t shave your legs!” Even though Kristen Stewart is a big movie start nowadays, she still faces a lot of criticism from press. She says she doesn’t care about what her critics have to say.
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift found herself suddenly unpopular in middle school when she was picked on by a group of mean girls. “Junior high was actually sort of hard because I got dumped by this group of popular girls,” the singer-songwriter, 19, told Teen Vogue  She said of the mean teens, “They didn’t think I was cool or pretty enough, so they stopped talking to me.”  Taylor liked a style of music that wasn’t popular where she lived, which gave the bullies another reason to single her out. “The kids at school thought it was weird that I liked country [music],” she says. “They’d make fun of me.” Taylor can look back on this time on her life with a positive perspective. She says, “Really, if I hadn’t come home from school miserable every day, maybe I wouldn’t have been so motivated to write songs. I should probably thank them!”  Read more

Singer Justin Timberlake wasn’t so popular growing up because he preferred music to football and in the state of Tennessee, where he grew up, that just wasn’t considered cool. He’s pretty popular with the ladies now, but he reveals he was picked on all the time at school and he had I had terrible acne and weird hair. When Justin was on the Ellen Dengeneres show he said, “The thing about life … is …… is … everything … you feel makes you weird is essentially what’s gonna make you sexy as an adult…. When you’re a kid I think you try so hard to fit in and when you get older you realize that fitting in isn’t really the thing that’s more interesting…. I would not be here if I would have listened to the kids who told me I was a terrible singer and I was a sissy…. Be different.”
