Nobody wants to hear in front of family or friends, “You need to lose weight!” Being told in an inconsiderate way that you are overweight from your partner or family can be humiliating.
If they told you to shed pounds out of genuine concern for your health, it may be something to consider. If your boyfriend suggests that you should go on diet because you would look better, all I can say is you might look better with a new boyfriend.
Here are a few snappy comebacks that you might find useful next time someone mentions your weight. Of course, it will depend on who makes the comment, and how they say it, but go ahead, tell us what you think is the best comeback.

Kelly Clarkson was told she needed to lose some weight after giving birth
Kelly Clarkson was fat shamed after she gave birth to her daughter and kept the baby weight on. Katie Hopkins, an

antagonistic British blogger, made cruel comments about Kelly’s weight saying, “Jesus, what happened to Kelly Clarkson? Did she eat all of her backing singers? “Look chubsters, Kelly Clarkson had a baby a year ago. That is no longer baby weight. That is carrot cake weight. Get over yourselves.”
Geez, it’s hard enough to manage looking after yourself and your baby after you’ve had a baby without people making rude public comments about your weight! Kelly handled herself with grace when she commented on the nasty tweets.
She doesn’t know me. I’m awesome! It doesn’t bother me. It’s a free world. Say what you will. I’ve just never cared what people think. It’s more if I’m happy and I’m confident and feeling good, that’s always been my thing. And more so now, since having a family – I don’t seek out any other acceptance. – Kelly Clarkson
Keep up the great attitude, Kelly!

Jennifer Lopez was told to lose a few pounds

She is a curvy and beautiful Latino lady, but not everyone appreciated Jenn’s curves. She stood her ground and set a precedent for curvy women everywhere.
They didn’t bother me at all. But I got a lot of flak for it from people in the industry. They’d say, ‘You should lose a few pounds,’ or ‘You should do this or do that.’ It finally got to the point that I was like, ‘This is who I am. I’m shaped like this,’ ” Lopez said. “Everybody I grew up with looked like that, and they were all beautiful to me. I didn’t see anything wrong with it. I still don’t!
