People make fun of me because I'm different - Ask Bryn www.ishouldhavesaid.net

Ask Bryn

Hi! I’m a student from Hong Kong. I don’t really fit in so I get a lot of insults or comments like : WTF, you’re weird… etc

I just want to know any nice comebacks for that stuff.

Oh! And is there a way to respond to people who ignore me when I talk to them?

Thx!

I am sorry that you are having a hard time at school. It can be really challenging when you feel that you don’t fit  in, and people are being unkind. It truly gets easier as you grow up and find your tribe, your own kind of people. Things will get better, just hold on.

Comebacks if people call you weird

1. I’m not weird, I’m a limited edition. Something you don’t see that often.

2. Looks like we have something in common then.

3. Thanks! Normal is boring.

4. Where’s your off button?

5. If you can’t be nice then at least be quiet.

What you can say to the silent treatment

  1. Giving someone the silent treatments speaks volumes about your character.
  2. Thanks for the silent treatment. I’ll just hold my breath while you get over yourself.
When people make fun of you for being different

Many Successful People felt different when they were younger

Some of the worlds greatest innovators didn’t fit in when they were younger, but they sure found out

where they fit in the world later on. Check out what these celebrities had to say about being different.

When Ellen DeGeneres won the Teen Choice Award in 2015 she inspired her audience.  “It feels good to be chosen but there was a time in my life that I was not chosen… I think I wanna make sure that everyone knows that what makes you different right now, makes you stand out later in life. So you should be proud of being different, proud of who you are.” – Ellen DeGeneres

I want to say that when I was little, like Maleficent, I was told that I was different,” she said. “And I felt out of place — too loud, too full of fire, never good at sitting still, never good at fitting in. And then one day I realized something — something that I hope you all realize. Different is good. When someone tells you that you are different, smile and hold your head up and be proud. Angelina Jolie

Justin Timberlake shared what it felt like being different growing up

It may not feel great being different from everyone else right now, but one day hopefully you will be able to see your gifts.

Wishing you all good things.

Bryn
