Top Ten Comebacks for your Parents

Funny comebacks when your parents give you a hard time

Parents can drive you crazy no matter how old you are! Whether you are 16 or 46, nobody likes to be lectured, nagged, or told what to do.

In the age of the helicopter parent, it may seem like your folks are hovering with an excessive interest in your life. In previous generations, kids were left to figure things out for themselves. Now parents are involved too much in their kids’ lives, telling them who to hang out with, what clubs to join, and which university to attend.

Sometimes it seems like you can’t win with your parents no matter what you do. They complain about what you don’t do, and then when you do it, they complain about the way you did it.

Of course, your parents love and worry about you, which is why they display these annoying behaviours.

The next time your mom or dad give you a lecture or a hard time, try some of these funny comebacks. Say them in a joking way so you don’t get yourself in too much trouble!

Top Ten Comebacks for your Parents

  1. You call it talking back. I call it explaining.
  2. I’m a liar? You were the one who told me about the tooth fairy, the Easter bunny and Santa!
  3. You say I’m lazy, I’m just on energy-saving mode.
  4. Getting in an argument with you is like getting arrested. Everything I say, can and will be used against me.

  6. My room isn’t dirty, I just have everything on display.
  7. I know money doesn’t grow on trees. That’s why I’m asking you.

  1. You know, probably the majority of people looking on this page are probably kids. And a lot of kids believe in the tooth fairy, the Easter bunny and Santa. ?

    1. Oh well. It is a public website is it not? If they have the wits to make comebacks to their parents, they shouldn’t get hurt over “oh no! The Easter bunny is not real?!?” (No dip). It’s just the way it is I guess.

      1. All of you complainong about Chuck ruining it for the kids, know that you will eventually have to face reality whether you like it or not. Jesus people, can a person not comment in peace? It was already mentioned in the comebacks that they weren’t real anyways.

    2. Yep your right, I’m only 8 and I believe in all that stuff. I know it’s not real but its nice to believe that your parents don’t put coal in a box on Christmas day.

    3. I never believed in Santa or the Easter bunny or the tooth fairy i can tell when my parents lie ;-; this one time they said the tooth fairy don t have no money right now

    4. I mean… I already didn’t believe in any of them. It really is stupid to. You’re just ultimately gonna be disappointed.

  2. Is anyone else’s family and parents always like, “What’s wrong with this generations it’s all about the electronics.” Ok first you give me an electronic Im going to put it to good use. Second you raised me. Maybe we are like this because of who we are raised by. Its not whats wrong with our generation (its who raised us)

  3. I love this site!!! When I arid one of the comebacks to my mum (I’m Australian BTW) she tried to think of something better to say, but all sage did was get mad?

  4. So one time me and my cousin and his friend were talking about her mom always telling her to pick up her dirty clothes. So I said, “If my dad or mom came in and told me to “pick up” my dirty clothes I would literally pick them up and then just put them back down” And I would say to my mom or dad, “ I picked them up! I did what you said!”

  5. Ya’ll need to stop spoiling it for innocent kids and talking behind your parents backs. Although… I never did my math work and I was complaining to my Dad who told me the I was digging a hole for myself and I said, well your the one that’s pushing me in and burring me!!! 😉 How crazy is that?
