Comebacks when someone says you’re wrong

Great replies when you are told you're wrong

When you are talking to a friend or family member and you disagree about a subject, they may blurt out ”You’re wrong!”

You may find yourself annoyed that they aren’t listening to you or that they are so pig-headed they only see one side of an argument.

You have to decide if it is worth putting in the effort to change their mind. In life, you have to pick your battles about what you get wound up about and what you let go of.

If you want to let the person know you don’t agree and that they are actually the one who is wrong, use one of our clever comebacks and shut them up, at least temporarily.

Yesterday my opinionated, ignorant brother-in-law vehemently stated “You’re wrong!” My calm response, “That’s not appropriate.” He doubled up once again with “You’re wrong!!” I calmly doubled up again with “That is really not appropriate. How do you know you are right?” He shut up and backed off.
